  • Moving ahead, open the folder that the company file is located

  • The next step is to right click the .qbw file and then click on the copy from the drop-down list

  • Once done with that, the user will have to paste the file into the newly created files

  • Followed by, opening QuickBooks desktop and then open the file from the

  • new location.

In order to resolve the error you can Rename the .ND or .TLG files


Configuration files .ND or .TLG allow QuickBooks Desktop to access company files in a network mode or multi-user mode. Opening QuickBooks Desktop can be affected if .ND and .TLG files are damaged or corrupted. These files can be renamed without causing data loss, as they are automatically recreated whenever you open the company file.

  • Find the folder containing your company file and open it.

  • Default Location: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files

  • Locate files with the exact same filename as your company file, but with extensions.ND or.TLG.

  • Example: company_file.qbw.nd, company_file.qbw.tlg

  • Right-click the.nd/.tlg extension and choose Rename. After the file extension, add the word ".old" and hit enter.

  • Example: company_file.qbw.nd.OLD, company_file.qbw.tlg.OLD
